Doliolaria is the larval stage of Crinoids (sea lilies and feather stars). It follows the vitellaria stage and develops into a free-swimming larva before settling down.

The larval stage of a starfish is called Bipinnaria. It is a free-swimming larval stage that uses cilia for movement and eventually develops into the next larval stage, Brachiolaria, before settling down to become an adult starfish.
