Tamil is the official language of Puducherry, a Union Territory in India. While other Union Territories have different official languages, Tamil holds the official status in Puducherry.

Goa is a state and not a Union Territory. The Union Territories include Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, and Puducherry, which are directly governed by the Central Government.
