Therapeutic Nutrition

Tuberculosis (TB) increases the body’s nutritional requirements. A nutrient-rich, high-protein diet helps in recovery and supports the immune system. Include Liberally:

• Protein-rich foods: Milk, paneer, curd, eggs, meat, fish, dals, soybeans.
• Energy-rich foods: Whole grains, rice, potatoes, ghee, butter, nuts.
• Micronutrient-rich foods: Green leafy vegetables, carrots, citrus fruits, guava.
• Hydrating fluids: Water, coconut water, soups, juices.

Avoid:

• Fried and spicy foods.
• Carbonated drinks and junk food.
• Alcohol and smoking.
• Excessive caffeine.
