Conservation Of Biodiversity

‘In situ’ conservation refers to the conservation of ecosystems and natural habitats, and the maintenance and recovery of viable populations of species in their natural surroundings. Examples include biosphere reserves, national parks, and reserve forests. Botanical gardens, however, are an example of ‘ex situ’ conservation where species are conserved outside their natural habitats in controlled environments.
