Cropping Seasons In India

Zaid crops are grown in the short season between the Rabi and Kharif seasons, typically from April to June. These crops require warm dry weather for growth and longer day length for flowering. Examples include watermelon, cucumber, and muskmelon.

In Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia and Malaysia, slash and burn agriculture is called "Ladang." This is a type of shifting cultivation where forests are cleared and burned for temporary agriculture before moving to a new area.
