The 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' programme was held from 9th to 15th August 2023. This initiative was part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, marking 75 years of India's independence. The programme aimed to honor the sacrifices of freedom fighters and promote patriotism among citizens.

Article 17 of the Indian Constitution explicitly abolishes the practice of untouchability in any form. It states: "Untouchability is abolished and its practice in any form is forbidden." The enforcement of any disability arising out of untouchability shall be an offence punishable in accordance with law. This provision is a fundamental right under Part III of the Constitution, ensuring equality and social justice.
