In my opinion, the trustee system introduced by the League of Nations was largely ineffective and failed to achieve its intended goals.

1. Lack of Enforcement Power: The League of Nations had no real enforcement power to ensure compliance with its policies, including the trustee system. Countries that were supposed to be governed as trustees often did not adhere to the terms of the system, and the League lacked the means to impose sanctions or corrective measures.
2. Political and Economic Self-Interest: The trustee system, which was meant to oversee the administration of colonies and promote the well-being of indigenous populations, was often undermined by the political and economic interests of the colonial powers. Instead of promoting true self-governance, the system perpetuated the control of imperial powers over their colonies.
