Plasmodium is a digenetic protozoan which requires two hosts i.e., primary, definitive or principle host and a secondary, intermediate or vector host. In case of Plasmodium, man serves as primary host and mosquitoes as secondary host some workers consider mosquitoes as primary and vertebrates as secondary host.
