Allotropes Of Carbon

In graphite, each carbon atom is hybridised and is linked to three other carbon atoms directly in the same plane by covalent bond ( bond) to form hexagonal ring. These rings constitute huge sheets. The different sheets are joined to each other by weak van der Waals' forces.
