An A-line skirt flares gradually from the waist to the hem, resembling the shape of the letter ‘A’. Steps:

Draw a vertical center line equal to the skirt length plus hem allowance.
Mark the waistline at the top and the hemline at the bottom, perpendicular to the center line.
Measure the waist circumference and divide by 4 to mark waistline width on both sides of center line.
Mark hip line (about 20 cm down from waistline) and measure hip circumference divided by 4.
At the hemline, measure the desired skirt hem circumference divided by 4.
Connect the waist width points to hip width points with a smooth curve.
From hip line to hemline, extend outward gradually to create flare; join with a smooth curve forming the A-line shape.
Add darts or seams as necessary for fit.

The clothing size for a short, slender woman is called the Petite Size. Petite refers to a category of clothing designed specifically for women who are shorter in height, typically under 5 feet 4 inches (approximately 162 cm), with a slender or proportionately smaller body frame.

The amount of suppression taken between the dart legs is called the Dart Intake. It refers to the width or amount of fabric that is folded and stitched out between the two legs of the dart. Dart intake determines how much shaping the dart will provide.
The larger the intake, the more shaping or contouring the dart gives to the garment.
Proper dart intake ensures a good fit without causing puckering or excess fullness.

The fabric used for test fitting is called Muslin.

Muslin is a plain woven, inexpensive cotton fabric.
It is lightweight, easy to sew, and inexpensive, making it ideal for making prototype garments (toiles or test garments).
Using muslin helps designers check the fit, style, and design of a pattern before cutting the final fabric.
Any adjustments can be made on the muslin prototype without risking expensive fabric.
Thus, muslin fabric is the preferred choice for test fitting because of its affordability and ease of use.

A garment is considered out of balance when it does not hang evenly or sit properly on the body, causing discomfort or an unattractive appearance. Three common reasons for a garment to be out of balance are:

Unequal Lengths: When the front and back or side seams are not equal, leading to twisting or pulling of the garment.
Incorrect Shoulder or Waist Placement: If the shoulder seams or waistline are uneven or incorrectly positioned, the garment may lean to one side.
Uneven Hemline: A crooked or uneven hemline can cause the garment to appear slanted or asymmetrical.
