Schedules Of The Indian Constitution

The following provisions of the Indian Constitution have a bearing on Education Directive Principles of State Policy (Article 45) This article states that the State shall endeavor to provide free and compulsory education for all children until they complete the age of fourteen years. Rural and Urban Local Bodies (Schedules 11 and 12) These schedules empower Panchayats and Municipalities to handle education-related matters within their jurisdictions. Seventh Schedule (Concurrent List) This schedule includes "education" in the Concurrent List, allowing both the Central and State governments to make laws on education.
