The Leaf

Daucus carota has decompound type of leaves. In this type, leaf rachis divides more than three times and give resi to small axis, in which leaflets are arranged. This type of leaves are also found in Parthenium, Coriander, Fennel. Simple leaf is a leaf having single or undivided lamina. The lamina can have various types of incisions, which may have to reach upto half, more than half or near the base or midrib, eg, Caster, Cannabis, Luffa etc.
In bipinnate leaf, the pinnate is divide twice pinnately. The leaflets called pinnules are borne on the secondary axis called rachillae or Rachules, eg. Acacia, Mimosa, Deloni, Albizzia. If the secondary axis produces tertiary axis, which bears the leaflets, the leaf is said to be tripinnate. The leaflet or pinnuls are borne on the tertiary axis. eg, Moringa and Melia.
