When air was passed through glass bulb containing 16 g of an organic compound in 100 g of water and then through glass bulb containing only water at the same temperature and then finally through anhydrous CCl₄ glasstube, the loss in mass of glass bulb containing water was 0.052 g and the gain in mass of CCl₄ tube was 1.86 g. Calculate the molecular mass of the organic substance.
