Isomerism

The and -enantiomers of an optically active compound have same physical properties like boiling point, melting point, solubility, refractive index etc, but they differ in their behaviour towards plane polarised light. The d-enantiomer rotates the plane of polarized light towards right hand side while enantiomer rotates it towards left hand side.
